總統府發言人黃重諺今（17）日表示，總統上午前往泰國經貿辦事處向故泰王拉瑪九世浦美蓬致哀，筆誤錯植一事，總統稍早已透過外交部向泰方說明並表達歉意，泰方也表示理解，並再次感謝總統以及台灣對泰國人民的關心。

蔡英文赴泰國經貿辦事處致哀並留言，代表中華民國台灣，向泰國失去一位偉大的領袖致上最深的哀悼，誤將Thailand錯拼為Tailand，少了一個h。

另外，傳聞府方正安排由總統率使節團前往泰國出席泰王追思活動，府方澄清，「我們並沒有這樣的規畫」。
